ourism Minister Indicates Nearly 350,000 VisitorsTourism Minister, Alejandro Fleming pointed out that almost 350,000 visitors from other nations has been the country, compared to about 250,000 in prior periods for the first seven months of the year, representing an increase of nearly 10%.

This rise in foreign tourists in the country is even higher than projections by the World Tourism Organization, who said Fleming points to growth for the continent in the activity of between 5% and 7%.

“If the trend continues, that 10% is very good for us because it allows us to reach that goal we set: the medium term a million people come to Venezuela for tourism,” he said.

He noted that the holiday season this month along with Christmas, is key to the final figures for the activity.

“This is a holiday season is shaping up very successful for our country and strategies for inclusive Venezuela as a tourist destination,” he said.

He said referring to the harvest end of the year, which coincides with winter in the source countries of tourists to Venezuela, begins in late September to promote international tourism in the nation to mass media, including an agreement with the Euro news TV channel, which reaches over 400 million households in 60 countries.
